I'm afraid I'm not going to make this one. Dr Google tells me I have chronic sinusitus, in laymans terms a stinking sore head for about 4 months now and an endless supply of mucous, (too much information!).

I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow and hopefully he'll come up with a course of action that will at least calm it down. In any case it's driving around the twist, not that I had far to go on that route

Not exactly what I had in mind for my retirement but that's life.

On the positive side Bob put me in touch with an old friend of mine Calum McLean who has recently taken up the pedal steel. I played in a couple of bands with Calum many years ago, the 80's if memory serves, and have great respect for Calum as an all round musician and a producer. The last time I saw Calum was at a friends wedding in London, it's good to be back in touch and hoping to meet up early next year.

Have a great time tonight guys and hopefully I can get over for the first one in the New Year. :guitar:

Hi Geoff and everyone

Sorry to hear about the illness. I'll see if I can give you an even sorer head when I let you hear my efforts on the steel! I've downloaded your brethren cd and I'm working my way though it and stealing everyone's licks...... Will hopefully make it to one of your bashes in the new year.

Cheers
Calum

A good wee night was had down Gartcosh way last night. No fixed tunes, rather a roll your own sort of soiree.

I think my favourites were Davy's rendering of Winter Wonderland and Dougie's version of Silver Tears. His Dobro's sounding braw through that AER amp. Willie gave us a thought provoking Silent Night, conducted in his usual, full bodied, fashion and I proceeded to finished it off in my own wee, sleekit, timorous style. I was looking forward to Jif's reggae-fied God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen being reprised, catch it next year (get well soon, Jif).
Now that Bob has, not so much pimped, but phully pharted Jim's Marlen, I'm looking forward to hearing some tune-age from the Sharpe end of the room.
Thanks chaps for another enjoyable year.
The next meet's in 2017! Would you Adam an' Eve it! Haud the Bus!!!
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

I have to agree with Danny on this one, Bob has yet again done a splendid job on Jim's Marlen.
If he cannot learn on that guitar there is something far wrong, the workmanship is first class, he is such a clever chap is our Bob.
Yet again a great night of playing, slagging (mostly at my expense) and fun.
See you all next year

Finally got my broadband back, no thanks to Sky. Have to agree with all the above comments, cracking wee night. The 1st one next year is the 24th of January. No tunes selected, the remit is to come up with a piece,( I'll change that, Danny would put jam on it ) tune new to you and no one has heard you play before. remember to bring headphones and mini amps and batteries. We will be back to one on one. Behave yourself Danny. AWERABEST FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR Donny.
