North East steel pedlars Sunday 19th

Postby Nick Bidmade » Sun Apr 12, 2015 1:41 pm

One week to go!
We are meeting at 1.00pm ish at the Buck Inn, Thornton Watlass, next Sunday afternoon for the first of what I hope will be a regular meeting. We have 5 confirmed attendees - Tony, Keith Tom, Derek and myself. Steve is unable to come to this meeting but hopes to attend in future.
If anyone else would like to come along, you'd be most welcome. Thornton Watlass is quite close to Catterick/Scotch Corner just off the A1 so is well placed.
If anyone wishes to come along, please PM me so I can give you full details.

I would have loved to come as you are only a couple of hours away but unfortunately I am down at Bracklesham Bay on the South coast that weekend. Hope you have a great day.

Nick, I hope you have a successful day, and that it blooms into something like we have up here in Scotland.

It really is the most fun you can have with your trousers on.

Remember the pictures and videos if possible.

Dessa - I hope this will be the first of a regular event.
Willie - I'm no photographer but I'm told one of the gang will have photo equipment with them.

Yes, as Derek said it was a good beginning to what hopefully will be a regular meeting. I think we all learned from it.
A couple more players could be accommodated if anyone else lives nearby.
A big thanks to Nick and Tony for the organisation.
Keith.

Hey John, it wasn't the NE steel festival but a "local" group getting together like Donny's or the London guys. You would be very welcome, of course, if you can travel the distance for an afternoon. We will do it again in June - then THE Festival is in August. :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:

Huh! despite all my pleading about video and photographic evidence that such an event took place, there is still no sign of any, I live in hope that someone will keep their promise.

Hi Willie,
Sorry we haven't been able to post any photos or vids of the meeting yet.
I'm in the process of sorting out some Video of the meeting. The PC I previously used has died and I'm trying to get another little Thinkpad to do "the bizz" from my Camcorder. I didn't take any stills, but hopefully I may be able to extract some from the Vid.
This was our 1st meeting and I think it was good for all of us. We got to know each other and heard some nice playing. We've already agreed to meet again in a couple of months and are in the process of sorting backing tracks. I hope it will become a regular feature in our calendars.
Regards,
Keith.
