SSGW SEPT 27

Wed Aug 24, 2016 6:30 am

Hi Guys, tunes for this month are: I LOVE YOU BECAUSE & I LOVE YOU BECAUSE, 2 versions, fast & slow, both in C and FOUR WALLS in A. Hopefully we will be having a visit from Derek Evens this month, all the way up from Englandshire, need to check his passport and eligibility for entry into Scotland.

A cracking wee night last night, 11 people turned up, nearly a crowd, nice to see Mr McKillop there. Hopefully Brandon will be able to make it on a regular basis. In case anyone didn't know Reg has been unwell and was in hospital earlier this month, but, being Reg he didn't say anything about it. Hope you feel better soon. Likewise Derek Evans who was unable to attend last night. He needs to know he cannot just not turn up, he requires a note from his mother. Next month is our 4th anniversary would you believe. WE ARE HAVING A CAMPFIRE NIGHT. As the local council do not allow a campfire in the hall, that part will have to be in your imagination. There are no tunes, if you play any other instrument bring it, it's a sing song, a relax and enjoy night. Mr Gamble is going to be tied up and put in a corner.  Next month is the last meeting for the year, so you have 2mths to practice a Christmas song, your choice. See you in October. Donny.

Sounds good Danny, hopefully I'll make this one. Feeling better each day but slow going. Still bashing away on the steel though, thinking about changing the set up on my Franklin pedal. Pulling string 1 up 2, string 2 up 1 and string 7 down 2. Think this is a fairly well used combination, perhaps apart from string 7 from F# down to E.

Pedal down gives a chord right across almost all the strings on the Uni, with some nice pulls and unison options. Tried tuning the strings this way and have been messing about trying some blues playing, bottleneck style. Sounds great and has been a lot of fun, so think I'm going to re-rod the Franklin pedal for these changes.

Had been hoping to ask Bob for his advice last meeting but was feeling pretty bad last week  :D

Ha, ha! You're definitely the restless kind, Geoff. You've hardly had it for 2mins and the hood's going up :o
Good luck Sir :guitar:

Guess so :D

How are you getting on with the C6 pedal Bob set up for you? Are you making sense of it? I've been looking at a couple of courses I bought for C6, will need to spend more time trying out the examples but it seems to me you can get some decent results fairly quickly.
