Irish Steel Guitar Festival 2018

Postby GuitarMathew » Sat May 19, 2018 5:26 pm

Hi all,

I really would like to play on the steel guitar show in Ireland. Can somebody help me with this? I would be honored if I can play overthere.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Mathew Jut

Mathew, I think a similar request could be echoed by many steel guitar players, however with the greatest respect I think you will find that it is by invitation from the ISGF that one gets an appearance and not so much a request from players. I can think of many top line players who would relish the idea of taking the stage in Ireland but alas! They are patiently awaiting the invite.
You are coming on in leaps and bounds, good tone, fairly good intonation, loads of enthusiasm and self confidence but does that warrent an appearance at the ISGF? that would be a decision for the selection committee.
Mathew, please dont think I'm being critical its simply me attempting to be helpful and constructive.
Dave.

Hi Mathew, I am one of the committee members of the ISGA and would suggest you come over to Ireland in October
and enjoy the great weekend of music. If you bring a CD or Video of your playing skills for us to listen and see, then
we can consider inviting you to play the following year. We have a Top Class backing Band ... they can play any music
Jazz, Country and Popular Music.

The Irish Steel Guitar Association web page badly needs updating.
http://www.steelguitarireland.com/html/links.html
All these links are broken on the ISGF web site.

The Steel Guitar Information Resource
http://www.steelguitarinfo.com/
Steel Guitar Nashville
http://www.steelguitar.net/
Dave Kirk's website
http://www.dave-kirk.com/
European Steel Guitar Forum
http://www.chanos-isgf.org/ESGForum/
French Steel Guitar Site 1
http://www.pedalsteelguitarfrance.fr/
Are all broken or defunct..

AND last of all, Ted Nesbitt's own web site is not showing up on their link ..

Hi Ted,

That's great to hear, I have some videos on Youtube to give you an idea how I play.

Here I played at the steel convention in the Netherlands on March 26th 2017.

And here is my latest video of the song: 'We Could'.

Thank you for your respond and I'm looking forward to be at the Irish Steel Guitar festival whether I'm playing or not! :D

Best regards,

Mathew Jut
