Hi Folks
......and He's back... :D

Having stood unplayed under a sheet for some time now...think it's time to make a move with this one!
Here's a view of the changer as it currently stands...and the string retainer has been fashioned from stainless steel 90 deg. angle bar.

Showing S/Steel retainer...

When I acquired the guitar in 2010....it had a horrendously rough comb-like string retainer, made from thin sheet aluminium, looking like it had been worked on by a mentally challenged year 9 pupil that with no concept of metal-working!! (Trust he isn't on this forum...Ha Ha!!)
Here's a picture....

Showing sheet ally part....

The aluminium part is was obviously non-original....I can see screw holes where original part would have been located (I think I can!)...but that is long gone.

If any of the tech minded members out there have any ideas about how the original part 'might'have looked....then I'd love to hear 'em. :D
Just unsure I I should persevere with string tensions and my S/Steel retainer...or go in another direction altogether...

So....on with the ramble...
To cut a long story short...the E and F levers don't properly return to E pitch after making respective 'pulls'. If I can sort this out, I'm hoping the guitar will be attractive to someone out there :!:

...and this it!

Last post seems to have fallen on stony ground.... :(

Suppose I'm really looking for a photo/drawing of the complete original changer....so I can see what I need to make?
Anyone out there with a Winsteel?.....I know there weren't many....but a photo would really help!! :)
