......and He's back...
Having stood unplayed under a sheet for some time now...think it's time to make a move with this one!
Here's a view of the changer as it currently stands...and the string retainer has been fashioned from stainless steel 90 deg. angle bar.
When I acquired the guitar in 2010....it had a horrendously rough comb-like string retainer, made from thin sheet aluminium, looking like it had been worked on by a mentally challenged year 9 pupil that with no concept of metal-working!!
Here's a picture....
The aluminium part is was obviously non-original....I can see screw holes where original part would have been located (I think I can!)...but that is long gone.
If any of the tech minded members out there have any ideas about how the original part 'might'have looked....then I'd love to hear 'em.
Just unsure I I should persevere with string tensions and my S/Steel retainer...or go in another direction altogether...
So....on with the ramble...
To cut a long story short...the E and F levers don't properly return to E pitch after making respective 'pulls'. If I can sort this out, I'm hoping the guitar will be attractive to someone out there
