Hi Everyone
I'm wanting to pick brains about the nicest way to transport my LDG. Currently, in its plywood case, it's about as portable as my washing machine so I'm curious to see what solutions the rest of you have come up with. I was looking at a Protection Racket drum hardware case which would fit but reckon I'd need to see it to see if the foam is tough enough. Not planning on flying it anywhere so just basic protection and I like the idea of a separate bag for pedals and legs. Anyone got any good ideas?

Been down the split case road a time or two, I would say leave it in the case it lives in and invest in a set of fold up wheels, I don't carry anything any more even my Walker seat gets wheeled in..... if you take this advice be careful which set you buy, my first set came from machine mart and with good quality load bearing wheels lasted a long time, the second set was not so good and the plastic wheels soon gave way....... the one i have now takes the weight and folds up tiny....

Agree with John. A trolley is the only way to go!

Some folks recommend gun cases but I don't know much more than that. A search on the US Forum might reveal more details.

Thanks for the advice guys.
One of the biggest problems is getting the machine down the stairs from its home. I have a good trolley that folds up for work stuff which I could use but it doesn't do stairs and my driveway is also a bit of an off road experience. Gun case is a good call. Will investigate....

Ah! now you mention stairs and driveway..... that changes the advice completely, still buy the small fold up trolley and put it in the boot,then buy another steel guitar that you leave in the boot for gigs and leave the LDG set up upstairs to rehearse on.
Any player will tell you that you need more than one steel guitar :lol:

Have you considered a stair-climber type sack truck. won't do any harm to check it out.

I just pick mine up and tote it up and down stairs. It's a pain in the proverbial, but it keeps me fit...
