What amplifier settings give the unique steel sound, that all or part could be tried on a lap instrument?.
My own left handed eight string has no peddles just a volume swell. Buddy R..IP. Doug Frost.

Doug,
It would help if you tell us what Amp you play through and what type of pickup is on the guitar. Humbucker or Single Coil?
Regards,
Keith.

Keith, not sure if my first reply made it, will try again to cover.
I have a Bill Lawrence, twin row poles (Humbucker ?) and a Roland Cube.
Sometime when available, I should get a go at a valve Fender.
Thanks for quick responce. Doug Frost.

Hi Doug,
OK this may help as a starting point. My 8 String with a twin blade humbucker is tuned to C6 and I use a Roland Cube 20W with the following settings.
Bass 10:00 o'clock
Mid. 10:00 o'clock
Treble 9:00 o'clock
Reverb @ 2
I also use a Fender Princeton 112 (Tranny) amp set as follows.
Bass 5
Treble 3
Reverb 2
I like a "Jazzier" sound when I play, but these settings may help you.
Good luck,
Keith.
