MOT!

Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if there is anybody in the North West of England who could give my GFI a bit of TLC. Not that there is anything fundamentally wrong with it but I'd prefer to spend a little cash to keep it that way! Pedals are a little squeaky (more than usual) and I just like the idea of looking after it the best I can. I don't think I could do any 'checking over' it myself.. I'm just about getting my head around the top of the guitar never mind underneath it(!)
Any contacts/help would be greatly appreciated.
Brad.

Brad, if there's nothing fundamentally wrong with your guitar the best thing to do is go on the American forum and type in GFI you will find a guy that has improved GFI by inserting little wafer thin nylon washers in between all the pull rods to cranks and generally made several different improvements to the guitar you don't need a lot of knowledge to do the things that he has done and it makes the guitar a lot quieter that's the best advice if you don't know what you're doing better to not make adjustments underneath that it probably does not need research it on the American forum and find the guy there's also videos on YouTube of how to do it and it will improve your guitar performance make it smoother and stop it from squeaking and that's the only advice I can give on that subject.

Hi Brad,
I think this is what John's referring to
http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=133031&highlight=gfi.
Where abouts in Lancashire are you? I'm in Whitchurch, just about 20 miles south of Chester, if you fancy a jam session. Enough room, spare Peavey 400 & no volume limit

PM me if you're interested.

Brad, I take it you know there is a shop in Morecombe that is GFI agent, don't know if they actually service and repair, or just sales.

The guy who runs the steel guitar department is Gary Thistlewaith who is a steelplayer himself and knows his way around a GFI guitar and a very approachable man.
