Ernie Ball Pot Change

Hi all,

I inherited a VP Jr from a guitar playing friend of mine, and over the last few months its been adequate, but recently, its become scratchy, I am assuming this is down to the standard pot not really being designed for the intensive usage it gets on a steel. Does anyone have any experience with changing the pot? and if so, is there a particular pot you could recommend?
