Help with set up

Hi - I have recently changed the copedant on my MSA Classic D10 and since I did I can't seem to get the 4th string E to F# change on my C pedal to raise to F#.

I have tried slacking everything off etc but I just don't seem to be able to solve it.

Is there anyone in the North of the country who could take a look and give it a bit of a general service? Happy to pay and travel to get help. I have some spare parts for the MSA but I doubt these will be required.

Thanks

Keith

Keith - it is almost certainly just your C pedal stop needing a bit more travel, but just in case make sure that you don't have a broken string ball end jammed between the fingers of strings 3 & 4. :D

+1 on it being more travel required on the C pedal, but another thing that may be happening is that the lower return spring might not have enough tension, and is not holding the lowering segment firmly against its backstop during a raise.

It's easy to check, just activate the C pedal whilst observing the changer finger, and see if the lowering segment is lifting off the backstop bar. If it is, tighten the lower return spring.

Thanks for your suggestions - I contacted Bob Adams and he spotted that I had put the change in the wrong hole of the bellcrank - so there wasn't enough travel on it.

I moved its position and it is now pulling in tune. Just got a problem with my left knee left raises to F now :(
