Ok question for the technical lads.
Emmons D10 Le-grande, pedal set up is B C A so I guess we call it Day? (dont shout at me JD )
Pedal B is basic taking strings 5 and 10 from a B to C#
Of late I notice that the 5th is starting to raise well before the 10th , making half pedal unison stuff impossible, my question is how do I adjust the travel?
I do know its not a string guage prob, have used same brand and guages for years.

Now lads be kind,I might have been around the block but have always left the techie stuff to the guys that know what they are doing, tuning,cleaning, replacing strings is about as far as I have ventured.
Have a few days to spare in new year and would love to have a bash at sorting it.

The Pedal that raises 5 and 10 is usually called the A pedal.
That would make you an Emmons setup, no?

Surely your pedals are either ABC or CBA (Day). You give a pedal sequence that would prove impossible to play A+B at the same time, (unless you have cloven hooves?)
B raises 3 + 6 a half-tone, whether you are Emmons or Day set up - it's in the middle, either way.

Oooooops mistake there, sorry thanks for the response and clarification of pedal names. No cloven hoofs just dont know my A**e from my Elbow.
Probably best I start again and try not to confuse. Can we just call it the pedal (regardless of name) that raises the 5th and 10th strings from B to C#

Let’s sort your real problem..

NB: The balance between pedal stop and bellcrank position is where the major part of all PSG tuning exists, the nylon is the ‘final’ fine tune only, however many players recon the nylon tuners should be the only port of call and the undercarriage is a no go area, often with disastrous consequences! Trust me I’ve spent many hours uncranking guy's seized PSGs

Your nylon tuner on 10 is slackened back (could be worn) or your tuner on 5 is tight or a combination of both though if 5 is tight your open 5th would be sharp.

Regardless!! The solution!

Ease off the tuners on both 10 & 5 then tighten them until they just touch the finger and no more ‘fag paper distance’! now try your pedal….

To adjust properly it requires the travel on the pedal stop to be sufficient to raise to the note and the position on the bellcrank to be correct.

Firstly set the pedal stop to give you slightly above pitch when the pedal is pressed on the one that needs most travel, then you can set the bellcrank positions to do likewise with as little travel as you can get away with, at this point both should be comfortable but only 'just slightly' sharp when the pedal is pressed.

Then adjust your nylon tuners back on both to get the desired note on each with simultaneous travel. It requires a little patience on positioning but you will get there!

To get the nylon tuners sitting just sweet on the finger at the start upend the guitar onto the headstock end plate so you are looking down into the changer, you will find it all much easier to see that way.

Have you got a 'key' for getting the e clips off the legrande bellcranks if not they are a ball ache to get off n' on, I have one I can lend you if your stuck!

I guess the health is well enough at the minute when you're attacking PSGs again!

Bob, Thanks, well explained (you know my extensive knowledge of PSG technical stuff ) Im sure from that I can sort it,gety ready for a shout tho little job for me after the break.
Health? so so- had a visit to see 'the man' yesterday, yet another biopsy, will know more in new year,until then its eat drink and be merry.
