Upgrade nut for Rogue Lap steel for use with bridge benders

Postby ColBuckwalter » Mon Sep 22, 2025 8:26 pm

Hello. This is my first post so please excuse the question if I am ignorant or down right buffoonish.

I'm stepping into the world of lap steel and am buying a Rogue (ish) lap steel to test the waters. I have found benders for the G and be that can be retrofitted to the existing bridge. However with the cheap plastic string nut I worry about binding, going out of tune, and the dreaded breakage at the nut. I have looked online extensively for a roller bridge but so far I can't find a retrofit for that particular low end model. I have found fixed string nuts in both brass and I guess chromed brass. However with my limited expirance on the subject I worry that I will be dropping hard earned money into something that will make me look stupid, and poorer as an insult to the injury.

So I thought I would ask your thoughts on the matter. Past being scoffed at for being cheap.

I thank you in advance for any input you might have.
