String suppliers outside USA?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any PSG string manufacturers based outside the USA please? I see there is a 'Pyramid' brand (Germany, available via Thomann) who do an E9 set with a wound 6th (G#) but I can't find any others, or any C6 sets.

I'm not here to discuss politics, but for various reasons I'm keen to try to source strings from a bit closer to home if at all possible. Not too bothered about price, just trying to work out my options. My last resort is probably buying multiple single strings from Rotosound or Newtone...!

Thanks for any tips you can give,

Sid

Sid, my S.I.T's come direct from the factory, have been buying/using them since I toured the factory with Vergil Lay (the founder) ln 2oo8

This is probably not terribly helpful but the only non-US brand I have been able to find is the Pyramid brand you have already identified. Apparently they were an old East German company "back in the day" though I don't know where I read that - probably somewhere on the Thomann site. Anyway, I've just ordered a set from Thomann made up of individual strings to get the gauges I wanted - the strings are fairly inexpensive so it cost about the same as getting a specific set like C6 from one of the bigger brands. They didn't have every single gauge but I think I only made one compromise to get the set. I buy stuff from Thomann fairly regularly so postage not too much of an issue, and for me it's handy that they are coming from within EU. I see Strings Direct in UK also sell them.
