Linkon SD10 - front legs have different angels

Hi,
i recently bought a Linkon SD10.
during first assembly i noticed, that the front legs are at different angels, which results in a slightly tilted position of the pedal beam.
i am new to the pedal steel guitar, and always thought the pedal beam to be in parallel with the cabinet...
maybe a possible reason for this kind of arrangement could be a better accessibility to the pedals for the left foot , or a production failure ...
any ideas ?

Could you post some close up pics of the undercarriage of the Linkon? The only other guitar that I've seen where the front legs are so badly out of alignment was constructed by Bentley Steel Guitars. Wayne Link has infinitely more skill in constructing pedal steels than the owner of Bentley Steel Guitars, Ron Steenwijk. Perhaps there is a fracture in one of the endplates on your guitar.
I read that Wayne Link is not a great fan of computers, but is based in Winnipeg, Canada. His phone number is (204) 895-9602 He may be able to help you out with a replacement endplate.

Robert nothing could be that far out I am betting its been wound in cross threaded at the wrong angle Check the other 3 they should be about 17.5 * from the flat of the end plate ...... I have a 1/2" 13 tpi tap that may clean it up, Where are you located?
There was a young chappie from Kent , Whose tool was incredibly bent,
To save him the trouble he put it in double and instead of coming, he went>>>>>>

Thanks for Wayne's phone number !
No fractures in the endplates.
Seems like the drilling on the right upper socket is slightly steeper than from the one on the left side (perspective relates to the photo of the undercarriage).
i did some measurements which you can see in photos.

Thanks for your offer!
I live in Vienna Austria (have to edit that in my profile).
Threads seem ok so far ...
above, i posted a few photos of the socket.
I might have to drill and thread them in the right angle, or as Ken mentioned, ask Wayne for an endplate replacement.

I had a brand new sho-bud like that. It didn't affect the playability. I just used to screw in the front legs leaving the a bit loose.. your pedals seem high as well. Its a manufacturing error. Maybe try swapping legs around might help incase one of the legs has its threaded part clamped in wrong. Look like on yours, the changer endplate has been tapped wrong..

It is hard to believe that a guitar with that problem would have left the builder after final inspection. I am not familiar with that brand although I wonder if the leg socket(s) are welded to the end plates rather than being part of the casting. If it is welded there is a possibility the weld has cracked and the socket has moved and possibly been re-welded.
I have noticed from the photo's that the angles are different Perhaps using a tapered washer may correct the seating of the leg

David, you are right about the pedals being to high.this was the setup when the steel arrived.
the legs have all the same properties, and swapping them around didnt change a thing.
its definitely wrongly tapped !

The sockets are part of the cast, nothing is welded.
I got back at the seller, and he ensured me, he bought it from Wayne Link himself, no changes on the guitar since ...
I am not sure to believe that though ...
thanks for the tapered washer idea !
