Cheap (really cheap!) acoustic lap steel

Here's an unbranded guitar I picked up in a charity shop for £5 with case! As a standard guitar it was just about unplayable, but I saw potential because of the tailpiece construction and pretty chunky neck - narrow-ish, but deep front to back. Popped in a raised bone nut, flipped the tuners over and strung it up C6th.
Tried a pickup on it, á la Bob Dunn, but the feedback was terrible so off it came - hence the scar near the bridge. However the acoustic sound is acceptable and, while the string spacing will be way too narrow for most players of the 6-plank, I'm used to the typical crowded strings of a PSG and so can manage. It's a real joy to play as it's light, small and can be always near at hand.

(PS. I now have a monthly D/D to the charity)

That's a cool guitar Tony! I like the slanted fretboard (can't remember what it's called). Seems like a great buy for £5..

Hi Tony.
You must have quite a collection now. Care to share pictures of them all?
Keith.
