Today's 'oops' moment

Postby Rigby » Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:28 pm

New strings arrived from John today so I treated the guitar to a much needed change. The old strings had a wound sixth, the new ones have a plain. This meant quite a major adjustment to get the B pedal raise on that string in range.

I may have then broken a couple of third strings before I realised said adjustment would have a knock-on effect there too... I finally clocked that my B pedal was trying to raise the third string by about a fourth, no wonder it snapped!

Oh well, you live and learn...

John, you're too kind -- I have never broken one while playing, it was my own ignorance that was responsible... but don't worry, I still have a couple because the sets have spares in them.
