Bringing 3rd String up to Pitch - B Pedal Travel?

Hi guys,

Using a 12 gauge 3rd is giving my guitar difficulty in bringing it up to pitch with the B pedal down. It almost gets there but then the nylon nut falls victim to overtuning. Am I right in thinking that the B pedal needs more travel? If so, what’s the best way to do this?

Thanks guys,

Brad

Back off the nylon tuner at the changer end. Then turn the guitar upside down and have a look at the B pedal where it activates the "pull" it should have a screw adjustment to give it a greater amount of travel. A couple of turns of the screw is usually enough. Then turn the guitar up and tune as normal.

Update: after adjusting pedal travel.. I don’t think my guitar is made to withstand a 12.. back down to 11 I go

Brad, give Bob Adams a call, he can talk you through it. You should be able to put a 12 on with a little adjustment,
