Latest "makes"

Here's a couple of pieces I've just made for the renovation of the Fender/Bud D-10. The first is the gizmo that creates a third pull on a double pull changer. I mentioned this a while back.
It allows three lowers or raises on a two up/two down changer. The rod through the short shoulder also goes through the "wrong" hole just above or below the gap between the raise/lower fingers. The longer one acts as a normal sleeve on the last "correct" hole next to the gap. The rod through the short side slips through the "wrong" hole without activating the changer, but still pulls the adapter (which slides along the other rod) to activate the adjacent raise/lower. It can be used for a triple raise or lower and still leave a spare hole (making it a "three up or down and one the other way). By "wrong" hole I mean a raise hole if you want to triple the lower, and vice versa. I'll post a picture "in situ" when it's fitted.

The other piece is a simple to make pull-rod retainer clip. I used the bit of the core of a 68-guage string that you cut off after it's attached to the tuning post.

Now I can get on with the rebuild :D

Tony, you are obviously operating at a level way beyond my ken. I've read through the post three times now and still have no idea what the plot of the story is  and from this position of ignorance I can only wish you every success in your endeavours.
Actually, I had to go and take a cold shower, with all that talk of, "slipping through the wrong hole"

Nice one Tony. Actually your adapter first materialised when it's inventor, Tom Bradshaw, announced it as an ideal device to give early MSAs additional pulls. So, great minds think alike. Re the spring clip, I've used the springs from certain clothes pegs in the past and with a little manipulation they work great. :D
