I think the De Havilland Mosquito was built from plywood?? Can't be all bad...

The mosy - yes definitely plywood and balsa. A really good plane.

I had a Denly once ands the body of that was plywood with a nice veneer. Sounded good. But on theother hand I have a Gibson Sonex 6 string guitar. The body of that is made from what they describe as resin wood. Sawdust and resin. Looks and sounds ok though. Pity it was cheap as was the quality of the rest of the guitar.

Once I have sorted the pickups out this should be a good sounding guitar. The pickup that had the low ohm reading was taken out today and I took it to pieces and gave it a good clean. Don't know what I did but the ohm reading doubled and the sparkle came back to life. The only thing I am left with is the top strings sounding louder than the bass strings. As I am using the original strings I am hoping its because of the age of them. On the other hand there is a niggling thought that maybe one of the horseshoes is stronger than the other. I may take it apart again and remagnetise using the speaker method. I have a Peavey speaker magnet laying around so would use that.

On the ten string there appears to be little volume on string 1 but the rest fine. Anyone any ideas?
