Mr Heap, Richard is a gentleman , and has offered to buy me coffee, donuts, cakes ,AND ice cream at Larg's most extravagant Cafe/ restuarant .Shows the generosity of the Scots , unlike those in South.Remember and bring donuts to Ireland, Crispy Creams will do nicely.

See you in Dublin.

But seriously ....... many thanks to all who have replied. You guys are the best!
I might contact some of you soon to let you try some prototypes.
Cheers for now.
Rich.
Roy - looking forward to meeting up with you again after many years. I might treat Malcolm to a cup cake if he is a good boy in Dublin
Rich - good luck with your project. If you can significantly undercut MSA and their LFrets, you could sell a good number of them provided they can fit most standard scale steel guitars. Malcolm will kick himself if he could have saved enough money from his MSA LFrets to buy a Telonics amp.

Ok Mr Byng, I will reluctantly take that old Telonics off your hands , will do a straight swap for my Lfret when it arrives.

You have got more chance of being struck down by lightning Mr M. I will be getting one of Rich's higher spec led fretboards. You will be lumbered with the obsolete MSA one.

I will ensure that there is a trade embargo on sending our high tech products to a low tech nation like England (South that is , North is ok.)

Er... Malcolm. Let me see if I've got this right...... Are you saying that my market strategy should concentrate on only selling to steelies who live between Dundee and Orkney???
Excellent!!! I'll work on a version for bagpipes and accordions right away.
You're an inspiraton, ma man!
Cheerio the noo.

Meanwhile back at the led fretboard subject... does anyone know if there are other similar products around?
I've seen various gadgets for standard guitars, but not for steel, other than the MSA one.
Cheers.

Yes Rich, you don't want to give those Southerners your high tech products, they would probably just sell them off to the Chinese to make millions of cheap copies.

Rich, the Lfret is only one of that type of design that I am aware of.There have been May clip on type versions with lights shining up /down / across/ overhead the fret board, non of which were of much use.

I believe the LFret design uses LEDs, the SuperSlide part of the MSA site says so. I'd like to try EL (electro-luminescent) wire and tape to achieve the illuminated fret thing. It's easy to work with and cheap/easy to obtain. You can even get kits from Amazon.
