Hilton pedal owners

I was wondering how many of you players own a Hilton volume pedal and your personal opinion of it.
Is it worth the money? Is it better than a pot volume pedal? Do you really get a smoother movement with it as advertised?
How many have purchased one in the past and than gone back to a pot control and why? I do know of one player who has.

I got a Hilton a few years ago but have not used it all the time. It cleans up the signal very well and the sound is consistent throughout the pedal travel, but it needs a separate power source, a few more minutes of set-up time and several additional wires. It's the "clean up" effect that I like, the volume pedal is not sufficiently better to persuade me to use it exclusively. A simplification might be to incorporate a trailing multi socket in my box-seat; that may make it more convenient to use.
My home rig, the one left permanently set-up for those spare moments of practice, uses the same old Roland I bought 40 years ago and still works fine, even with a 99p pot. That pedal has a mechanical link from footplate to pot; no string, no snapping.
With no outside gigs these days my playing is limited to steel guitar get-togethers and the NESGF, and there I often use the pot pedal simply to cut down on "stuff".

After many years using a Goodrich pedal I bought a Hilton about 18 mths ago. I like it. After an initial teething problem of it squeaking when you were backing off the volume, which drove me mad, ( more mad than normal ) I have enjoyed using it. The power cord is too short, sometimes have to run another extension cable, but still think it's worth it. Donny.

I sold ...... then bought another ......Goodrich for teaching and ......................just in case!

There is no likelihood of string issues with a Hilton. Know what I mean??

I have used one for a number of years, there is no comparison the Hilton comes out top on all counts over the pot type pedal. You will have only one regret, that being, why did I not purchase one sooner. I also use a Telonics pedal that took a little more getting used to with the choice of settings, but another excellent product.

Roy, love my Hilton, also have a Goodrich with a Dunlop pot as a spare , have not had to use it in years now( come to think of it I gave it to a little bearded chap last year when his antiquated Fender pedal broke and he was too miserable to buy a Hilton) .I have tried the Telonics also, but the Hilton is half the price and in my view sounds exactly the same, just more bells and whistles on the Telonics as regard taper settings.Both great pedals. Only thing that appears to go wrong is power supply, I carry a spare one, but never have had to use it.
