Adding second string raise

Postby geosteel » Mon Jun 08, 2026 3:59 pm

Hi all

Have a 1979 Sho~Bud Super-pro here and trying to tweak a couple of things
Wanting to add a 2nd string raise to my RKL which currently does:
String 1 F#>G# & String 7 F#>

However string 2 has a half-stop mechanism in place for D#>D>C on RKR so I'm unsure how to proceed.
Is there anyway of working around this to fit an additional bell crank to the rod? Or would it be a case of having to get rid of the half-stop mechanism and using the string 9 changer stop as the feel instead?
Thanks in advance

You could try and dogleg a rod off the bell crank that is raising your 1st string RKL. Put the rod through on the opposite side of the bell crank to the 1st string raise, under the half stop mechanism. Hope this helps. Alan.
