How difficult is it to add pedals and/or levers yourself?

Howdy steelies,

The reason I'm asking is because I wonder if it would be worthwhile to buy an expandable base model to keep the cost of entry down (by over 30%) and add more pedals/levers later. Shipping a big and heavy instrument like a pedal steel I assume isn't cheap so keeping the initial cost down a bit is a big deal with import duties as well.

The question I have is how skilled of a mechanic do you have to be to install these parts yourself?

If anyone is interested, I'm looking at the base model Justice S10, which is a 2x1, but expandable to 3x4. All-pull changer, triple raise/lower.

Thanks in advance!

not very difficult to fit them IMHO, The trick is to get them in the right place, most levers nowadays come with a rake adjustment but its nice if they are fitted in the right place to start with and you don't have to be a contortionist To start with in order to play it.
