Good choice Ken, same here. Experimented a few times but always go back to the Herco/Dunlop 18 setup.

It’s an interesting one.
I have dozens of thumb and finger picks purchased over the years, all brands and some unbranded picked up on my travels.
I sometimes get the notion to try something different, out comes a bar, on go different picks and it usually lasts one session before I go back to my trusted setup, the only change I have made is using a Bens Bar, I know it’s down to personal choice but his bar does it for me.

Ron Elliot introduced me to Zookie thumb picks as they are angled either 10/20 degrees. They strike the strings at the correct angle for me. Made by Dunlop. Have several bars but favour Dave Wheelhouse’s bar.

What Derek says, Zookies are great, tried all angles, settled for the 20’s, really comfortable.

The worst thumb pick I ever bought was a "Jeff Newman" It appeared to be laminated and after a very short while it broke. I have never broken a thumb pick before or after. I have been using a Fred Kelly speed pick for a long time and am very pleased with it.
