Hi everyone
I bought an old ZB student that was in a sorry state of repair with a view to doing it up. After much research I am at a cross road and want some advice off those who have more experience. I am a slide player and have been for ages and want to move to lap steel to give me more chordal options when I’m playing. I want to know if anyone has set their steel up in the sacred steel tuning, like Robert Randolph, Roosevelt Collier, Bryan Byrd etc. Having played about with the tunings without pedals the ss version makes more sense to me. But trying to get the little student model to do what I need for this tuning is beyond what it was designed for. Would I be better cutting my loses with ten ZB student model and opting for an all pull 12 string?
