A Cautionary Tale.....

Postby Danny Mitchell » Sat Sep 15, 2018 11:18 am

Yesterday, an acquaintance related to me a very scary occurrence.
He, who shall remain nameless, is an excellent session guitarist, who has recently taken up the steel guitar & last night he was playing steel with a young band to promote their new album. During the afternoon sound check the lead guitarist from the band kept pestering he who shall remain nameless for a play on the steel. He who....etc, being a very pleasant and accommodating young soul duly let this guitarist sit down at the steel, whereupon, this bandy legged Neanderthal proceeded to break the LKL
Luckily enough, he managed to complete the gig, on a, much reduced from his 12 uni, Carter Starter.

I suppose the moral of this story is, Be Wary, or, Let No Man Pluck Thy Steel.

I should add, I'm backing this, he who shall....etc, to become a big figure in the UK, if not the world, of PSG. Mark my words.

I have also experienced the devastation of a broken knee lever though in this case, it was my own Neanderthal genes that did the damage. Though i prefer to think that the ShoBud casting had seen better days! And Bob stepped into the breach saving the day by dispatching a new linkage. Perhaps when letting a novice at your instrument, fitting the special drawing pin on a stick version of the lever end stops would sort the problem! :D
