I don't think it had any proper knee levers on it, what you show in the picture to me looks like a zb floor pedal used as a knee lever possibly cut down a little but the same casting. What I have drawn roughly is the knee lever that goes on the pro models and they look a lot better IMHO.
The lever that takes your E's to Eb is a good starting point but if you have another that takes your E's to F then you can get a G chord on the 6th fret with your A pedal and that raise.......now you are getting somewhere..

Not uncommon on some of the earlier models... It does resemble a pedal JD but it was an early lever design.

The bigger picture!

Not sure how many I have [I'll have a hunt] but I do have this one.. :)

There you go Chris.... Bob to the rescue and with the real thing! and if he ain't got it ....he can make it..... but I would (if it were mine ) still prefer to make some from the flat ally for comfort and looks.

Ahhh that might explain why/how that bolt ended up getting bent and eventually snapped off then, and why it's so awkward to get to. It might also explain why the holes for (what I assumed was) the second lever seemed TOO close to the first to ever be comfortable to get your knee in and use.

Well that does sound pretty appealing. Currently not having the ability to play a minor chord seems pretty inhibitive for me learning the instrument. Do you have a price for the job at all?

I'm now in two minds .... try to stick as closely as possible to the original so as to not negatively impact on it's future value, versus making it as playable and functional as possible for me to learn on! I do think a second knee lever would be a big help (as you say E's to F's), and if Bob could spare the self same lever so it looked like it should have been there all along, that'd be fantastic. Although I'm probably still going to have to source some additional rods and springs .... ahhh I was only planning to replace a screw hahahahaa! I reckon I'm gonna have to start pricing it all up. Really appreciate all the feedback guys! My little restoration project has taken an interesting turn!

Chris you have several options here, You could send it up to Bob and get him to sort out your sheared bolt and fit the other lever he would charge a fair price for this service and you would get your guitar back in good working order. Next one pay him for the lever and let him send it here then you could come up to St.Neots spend a few hours here and we could sort it out between us I have some rods and bar or you could play my Emmons while I tinker with the ZB.
and the next one is, Pay Bob to send me the lever and anything else he thinks might be useful and I will play with it and give you a shout when its done.... then you can come and fetch it or have it shipped back down.
