Compensator on Williams 700

Postby Will C » Sat Jun 21, 2014 7:20 pm

I found the 6th string went flat when I pressed the A pedal, not by much but you could hear it. After faffing around for a month or more trying to tweak the string a little sharp so the flatness wouldn't matter too much I conceded defeat and made up a compensator pull today. Using the lowest leverage possible, I can just raise that string a few cents to correct the effect and all is now sweet and harmonious. And I only had to use a wire coathanger for the pull-rod: it is almost exactly the diameter of a Williams pull-rod. A M2.5 thread on the end and Robert's your father's brother!

Necessity is the mother of invention. Now I'm wondering if it's only my guitar, or could they all use one.....? :guitar: :guitar:

Hi Will. What we need is photo/s!! Sounds as though you've created a 'fix' that could be useful for a lot of players.
