I am looking for a bit of advice. My sho-bud Pro 1 (3+2) needs a little bit of work on loose pedal rods and tweaking up and also would benefit from 2 more knee levers.
Quandrum : Do I refurb and add some knee levers or do I sell it and upgrade to a 3+4 and if so which model would suit. I am happy with sho-bud but they are a bit heavy if I ever decide to gig it ?
Any advice welcome

An S10 Sho~Bud will not feel as heavy as some pedal steels. It (pedal steel) is a heavy instrument full stop, with the exception of the MSA Millennium.
You may find it cheaper to get a couple of lever kits and upgrade your existing guitar. One of my pupils has an S10 3+2, and is working within its limitations.

My two cents is keep the steel, and possibly add one more knee lever.
If you use two of the levers to raise and lower the E's, and lower the 2nd and 9th strings with the third lever, then you're good to go
