That's yer lot! And mysteriously enough it sounds no' bad, in fact, bloody good when Dougie Stevenson's playing it.
It ended up on my lap via a pal of my youngest son. It belonged to the lad's long deceased Grandpa. It had three rusty strings on it, and everything electrical crackled. After a wee bit of my very limited TLC, new strings and a skoosh of Servisol, it burst into life. A6 front D back.

I'm curious to know if anybody's seen the likes of it before. It's a plywood box and all the metal's aluminum and I wondered if it was perhaps a kit from those DIY, self build magazines you used to see (many moons ago). It certainly put smiles on faces at the last SSGW meeting.

Oh, and if any of you are wondering what the black knob, situated near the tuner end, is.......it is , in fact, a howker. That is, you grab it and howk the guitar out of the case

I've seen a single neck version many years ago, I think it was a DIY kit

Thanks Zebedee, I'm pretty sure that's what it is, too. It's seriously solid and has the air of the brick sh#thouse about it.
The only thing that was throwing me was the lovely old case it came in. It's very well made and such a snug fit.

He said it was "It was lost in Space". :?

Aye, Ron, it's diametrically opposite the 'self builds' as built by your good self :guitar: but it might get the young fella interested in the steel.

Well Danny, they say there is many a good tune played on an old fiddle, not sure if this is what they were referring to  depends on the player, I've tried different pickups as played by the greats and I'm still rubbish, but I'm happy.

Definitely not a self build. They are British made and I have seen a couple for sale recently. Rod King used to have a double eight version if I remember rightly.
