B pedal slack

My B pedal has about 10-15mm of slack/movement before the pull engages. I cant see a way to adjust it to get rid of the slack.
The A and C pedals don't have movement before the pull starts.

Just to paint a better picture - Its as though if i were to put a wedge between the underside of the cabinet and the arm that links the pedal Rod to the cross rod then adjust the pedal height it would take up the slack.

Any advice most welcome.

Slacken off the grub screws on the 3rd and 6th string bellcranks [illustration 1 &2] then move the rods so the nylon tuners are just touching the changer fingers and re-tighten those grubs, now with the guitar on its side on a table or whatever press the pedal and adjust the pedal stop screw [illustration 3] to just a tad above the note required and tighten it, stand the guitar up and adjust the nylon tuners to pitch!

The nylon tuners should only be used for fine tuning the pedals or levers, the stops are the key to major tuning adjustments!

From what remeber my rods connect to the bell cranks with a loop of metal that doest look easily adjustable rather than the clamp with grub screw like shown in your picture.
I will give this a go tonight.

As Bob says, adjust the nylon tuners until they almost touch the fingers, operate your lever while watching the tuner and adjust the pedal stop to that position, when you have that, fine tune the note by using the nylon tuner but ensure that there is a slight clearance between the nylon tuner and the finger when at rest.

Or in old technical engineering terms!! ... a fag paper's clearance at the changer finger!

I have had a tinker tonight and the pedal action is much improved although I have had to tighten the nylon tuner for the lower of the 2 G# strings quite tight to achieve the raise to A. And the higher G# has some slack between the nylon tuner and the changer Finger

I have tried to adjusted the pedal stop screw to a middle ground between the two strings but I'm missing something somewhere as the lower nylon tuner is quite tight.

A picture of your bellcrank would help greatly here Darren as I can't visualise your machine! Your bellcrank positions need be different heights from the cross shaft to sort this. Think of it as a milk maid carrying two pales on a yoke .......... they have to be balanced in order to bottom at the changer at the same time! So the crank positions need to be higher on one than the other due to the string tensions.

Modern guitars are a more defined science Darren with fourteen hole bellcranks etc, for definitive settings and tuning accuracy, the older babies are tad more seat of the pants! But your problem is most definitely fixable!
