10" speaker replacement

Mon Apr 21, 2014 9:42 pm

Does anyone know a good 10" speaker I could put in my Cube 40XL? I play a 70s Sho-Bud, which is very cutting and I want to work towards a more rounded, orchestral sound. Additionally pickup suggestions?

Hi Tim, The min.requirement for a half decent sound has got to be a "Quality" 12" speaker..... the 10" may be good enough for the front room but even then, your probably better off with headphones....
I have been searching through my old post to find what I thought I had posted.. pics of when I rebuilt my cube 80 cabs to make them 60mm taller in order to fit JBL E120`s in them... that worked for me, my twin reverbs have nearly all gone (no regrets) its an easy job to do with an 80 or 80xl cab..... just measure the existing panel sizes, take this info down to B&Q and they cut the sizes you want at no extra charge above the cost of the material tis easy then to glue and screw ...refix all the furniture to your new taller cab and Robert is your Uncle...
B&Q have the most powerful and accurate saws would highly reccomend, but don`t buy their ant traps "Bait Stations" my ants use them for accomodation.....
