Have all the rods etc to get my 4th knee lever working on my ZB, which has never been connected. What should I set it up to ?? Already have 4th and 8th strings raise and lower and also 2nd lower on lever 3. Should I add 9th lower to lever 3 too. But bigger question is what to set lever 4 up to ?? Suggestions please. Regards Graham

Defo the 9th lower on lever 3 if set up right you should achieve the half stop / full tone lower on the 2nd when 9 engages!
4th lever wants to raise 1st a full tone and lower 6th a full tone again if set up right the half raise should kick when 6th lower engages!

Presuming Graham plays one (and it's not retrofitted) does that half thingy work on a ZB? T.

Thanks Bob. I thought string 1 raise might come into it, but hadn,t even considered string 6 lowered. And Tony, my ZB has the original early style mechanics,so no half stop thingy-wotsit. Might be trial and error to see if I can get it to work as per Bob,s suggestion. Maybe Richard (Zebedee) might have some thoughts. Might pm Jim Pritchard and ask what configuration he has. Raise 1 and 2 a tone and half tone respectively...
I wouldn't worry about the 6th lower, you wouldnt get a split tuning on the 6th very easy, (thats to give you G note with the 6th lowered and the B pedal activated).. Without the split, the full tone lower on the 6th is something you would NOT use very much.. That's unless you had a third pull rod to add to the 6th raise and then a split can be achieved albeit not perfect..
Raising 1 and 2, Definately what I would do, I use it all the time... It should be fitted to all steel guitars...

i name my lever 4 : lever G
you can either raise string 7 ; F# to G or G#
or lower string 6 : G# to F#
(those who have the Franklin pedal already have that move)
i agree w: Dave , the raises on string 1 : F# to G or G# & string 2 : Eb to E are a must
they are pretty much standard nowadays

Thanks David and James for further food for thought. Regards Graham
