how about take it out find a couple of nuts that suit the thread and wind em on it then cut a bit off and use the nuts to clean the thread before replacing it
I doubt I have any nuts that fit, it'll be an Imperial size for sure. Not to worry, I can take it into BAPP tomorrow and get them to hunt for something.
Is that your A pedal or C pedal If it's your A pedal then I think there may be too much slack in the raise rods If it's the C pedal, the slack is necessary
It's the C pedal. At the moment, if it's set up so the C pedal raises the 4th string all the way to F#, it doesn't quite leave enough slack for the D lever to lower it to E flat. So I think I need to compensate by increasing the amount of slack and also increasing the pedal travel.
You need to have more movement of the changer finger without much altering of the C pedal travel This can be achieved (albeit at the expense of a slightly heavier C pedal and F lever pull) by making sure that the raise hook wire is in the changer finger hole nearest the axle
Thanks, yes the raise hook wire is already in that position. I think there just needs to be a little more travel, I can't see any other way to get both changes in tune.
