RIP John White

Postby Ken Byng » Wed Feb 07, 2018 10:40 am

I was informed yesterday that Hampshire pedal steel player and tech Johnny White passed away last week after a long illness. I knew that he had been unwell but not aware of the full extent. John was a regular attendee of the Irish steel festival, and used to do set ups and repairs on guitars for Gerry Hogan. My condolences go out to John's family and friends. RIP John. :(

So sorry to hear that awful news, such a loss to the steel community, an excellent steel mechanic and a real nice guy. May he rest in peace.

Very sad news. Yet another smiling face we will miss at the yearly Irish steel festival.
My condolences to Becky and the family. RIP John.

Sad news indeed, John was a lovely man, I first met John in 1992 on a weeks instruction course with Jeff Newman at Newbury and in later years our paths crossed on a number of occasions at the Irish Steel Guitar Festival RIP John. My condolences to John's family and friends.

I never had the pleasure of meeting John but his was a name that cropped up on many occasions over the years, yet another stalwart of the British steelies scene leaves us.
God bless you John.
