Just getting word on several face book steel groups, that Del Mullen has passed away.
What a great man, another sad day for steel guitar world. May he RIP.

Just seen on The Steel Guitar Forum that Del Mullen of Mullen Steel Guitars has passed away. Not so long ago Mike Mantey (his Grandson) passed away, and now we have lost Del, the founder of the company. Not only a terrible loss to the family, but a great loss to the steel guitar community.
May he Rest in Peace.

I agree with Mr Thurlby, the company the late Del founded made and fortunately still makes great steels. Very sad, particularly following grandson Mike Mantey's death. RIP both of you.
