Just been in contact with JD, he spent ages on the phone with Pauline, making sure she was coping with our current situation before talking about his own grief having recently lost Eithne his partner of many years.
I’m experiencing good days and not so good today being the later I was still languishing in bed, JD and I chatted, the man is dealing with his sadness but through all was more concerned about me than himself, a true true friend. His genuine concern for others and us as a family bought a lump to the throat and a tear to the eye.
Before Christmas he had made a very generous offer to assist Pauline (when the time came) in moving on my Sheffield steel, he went one further in finding a buyer passing the sale and details directly to me. It enabled me to deal with the buyer arrange courier and job done, yet another small worry off my mind.
JD like many on here have shown their true care and friendship, when I announced that after a lifetime I was steel less, Ken offered to loan me one for the duration, that’s the level of friendship. Our steel guitar fraternity is something to be proud of long may it live. God bless ya all.
Dave.
