Very sad news to hear of Buddy's passing. A truly inspirational player and innovator to whom we as players owe a great deal.

R.I.P. My condolences to his family.

Having said that I have no doubt he will continue to be a massive inspiration to many, many old and new steel players.

Anyone who plays pedal steel now or in the future will indirectly be indebted to Buddy Emmons. He didn't deserve to pass on in the way that he did - all alone and undiscovered for a week or so. That is really sad.

Very sorry to learn that news Ken.

I always enjoy the recordings he did with the Ray Pennington Swing shift band--in my humble opinion some of his best work, but again he was away ahead of his time with those intros etc in the Ray Price era.

I have been listening to a lot of the Ray Price stuff lately, and the combination of Rays voice, and Buddy's work, are simply a joy to behold.

I'm glad they got him along to the Family Reunion tribute to Ray Price, where he did a short interview, which will be a lasting tribute to him.

I'll listen to Night Life for the 500th time tonight while I raise my glass of beer to the maestro

It was a heart attack. He has now been cremated and his ashes are with Peggy's. A fitting finale to a sad ending. :(
