So sad to hear about the loss of the Master , who , just about every Steel Player unknowingly wished they could sound and play like. When as a Guitarist I first took up Lap Steel a well known Jazz Tenor Sax Player told me I should listen to Buddy Emmons, so I bought his records and then bought a Pedal Steel and he became a new benchmark. His master classes are unforgettable and I am proud to have met the Big E, R.I.P. Buddy.

I'm so thankful for all the countless hours of enjoyment I've had playing, learning, listening to, thinking and talking about pedal steel, and so much of that is because of Buddy Emmons. We all share an incredible debt of gratitude. Thanks Buddy.

Unbelievable, so shocked. I feel a great sense of loss although I never met the man. He surely made his mark on the world, and on millions of lives. RIP Buddy.

The world has lost the fore most pedal steel guitarist, he gave us all so much pleasure with his playing. The last time I meet up with him was at the Nashville steel guitar association, four years ago. Buddy! thank you for the music.
RIP..
Spence.

He was the inspiration to take up the Steel Guitar for so many of us and we can only thank him for that, he will be sadly missed.
