RIP Ron Mawn

Postby Ken Byng » Mon Nov 07, 2016 8:11 pm

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of Ron Mawn. Ron was a friend for 40 years and more, and there is no-one in the UK who knows more than Ron did about Sho~Bud guitars. He died just after 2.00 this afternoon in the Countess Mountbatten hospice in West End, Southampton, and had been in great discomfort for the last month or so. May he finally rest in peace. I have asked his family to advise me of his funeral arrangements.

I never met Ron, but the posts from Ken and so many others speak volumes. It's always sad to lose a member of our little community. RIP Ron, I know you will be at peace now.

I put this photo on the USA steel forum a few years back. Ron is in the centre, with Lloyd on the left and Les Elcome (co-owner of Sho~Bud London).
