One of the UK's better players, Ray Kedge, posted this on his Facebook page very recently.
"I woke up this morning with no feeling in my left arm after an emergency appointment at the Doctors I was sent to Northwick Park Hospital for tests with regard to a minor stroke after CT Scans ECG Blood tests an and a neck scan this was ruled out but a nervous disorder has left me without movement in my arm so I cannot drive or hold the steel bar to play steel, I am hoping this will not last too long, and we will be back playing asap".
Again another update from Ray this morning.
"A big thank you to all who posted their best wishes to me. have had to cancel our next three gigs, but I am hoping that maybe next week we can be back on the road, just trying to hold a bar at the moment is not happening so driving is out".
I have sent my best wishes to him, but those not on FB might want to send their best wishes.

Gosh, all we seem to hear lately is bad news.
Ray, I do hope that you will have a quick recovery back to good health and getting back to playing, but you need to take it steady there.

You sure you didn't have a particularly heavy one on the line, Ray?

This is the strange thing about the steel guitar world - for me as a relative newcomer anyway. Ray is obviously well-known and highly regarded, but until this I had never heard a single mention of him. So many good players out there under the radar. Best wishes to Ray for a full recovery!

Will, yes there are, and with respect to the lads who poulate here some of our very best are not even members, a sad situation but a choice that has to be appreciated.
Dave.
