It's a strange feeling when you never knew someone personally but through watching John and David on YouTube, you feel a great sadness of John not being here anymore. RIP.

Very sad to hear that, he was a great guitar player, and very modest.
It was a real pleasure to see him and David play on the couple of occasions I saw them.

Very sad to hear this news. Only ever met John at the St.Neots steel meeting. A very friendly guy, full of life, and made a big impression on many guitar pickers. My sympathy to Mandy (his wife) & family and to Dave Hartley, his buddy. R.I.P John.
In Memory of John, my favourite :-

What a shock! It takes a while for that kind of news to sink in. John was a great friend, we met up
every year in Dallas in the Telonics Room. His wife Mandy is a lovely person and great fun to be with.
My heart goes out to Mandy and her family and friends.
R.I.P. John Stannard ...... You will be missed by many.
