R.I.P "Farmer Bill" Langdon

Thu Nov 08, 2012 10:57 am

Just had a phone call this morning from Bill's son David that Bill passed away at 6am at the Dorchester hospital.
Bill had been with the BSS from it's very beginning 35 years ago and will be missed by all members that knew this smiling man. R.I.P my mate. I will surely miss you.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday 20th November at 11.30 am at Weymouth crematorium, Weymouth, Dorset.

I am Bill's youngest Son Andrew and I'd like to thank Roy Heap and whoever else came to see Dad away last November. Sorry I don't remember everyone but as you can appreciate, my mind was elsewhere at the time. Dad Loved his steel guitar and used to spend many an hour practicing in the kitchen (much to Mum's annoyance in the early days) but as he improved, it was nice to sit and watch him strumming away with a smile on his face. His hawaiian lap steel was his favourite and he got quite excited on the Tuesday nights when it was BSS night at Pucklechurch. I know he appreciated being with like minded people who shared his love of the Steel Guitar and I'd like to thank everyone he knew at the Society for their friendship and guidance.
Thankyou, Andrew.
Roy, I'd like to speak to you privately if possible please, how can I contact you?
