:censored: hell I'm devastated. When I first read the top line I was about to wish him a happy birthday until I saw the message at the bottom and realized
It was a genuine shock. I can't believe it.

I never got to meet him in person but I know my dad has had a few laughs with him over the years.
I have spoken to Tony many times via the internet over the years and his videos have always been a great watch and inspirational to me. He was a true gent.
I'm gutted with this news. May he rest in piece and condolences to the family.

Hi there! My name is Mal, the partner of George Smith who has recently just offered our belated condolences, and I felt I would like to offer my remembrance of Tony.
I have been George’s partner for just over a year and had no real understanding of country music until I got together with George, he introduced me to steel guitar music, “crying steel guitar” was the first one of Tony’s that George played for me and I instantly became hooked. I loved it and the way Tony made the steel sing. In fact I listened to many of his compilations and George and I named “Blues man” our song. I wrote to Tony a few times, complementing him on his excellent music, and feel like We had made another friend in Tony.
We are both so very upset to hear this sad news and wanted to let his Family know that we too feel their Grief.
A special man, we will never forget.
Mal.xx
