Hi all,

Stumbled over this forum while I was looking for info on six string lap steel. I don't own one yet; hence my searches. I've played guitar (and some other instruments) for many years but now looking at taking first tentative steps into steel guitar. Already, I'm sure this will be an invaluable resource.

Interested to find out what meetings / gigs / get togethers (not sure what you call them) is happening in Scotland? I'm based in Lanark but willing to travel.

Best wishes

Ed

Welcome to the world of lap steel guitar Ed, the Scottish meeting takes place this coming Tuesday 24th April in Gartcosh community hall about 7pm, you will be more than welcome to join the gang. :guitar: :guitar:
I play a twin neck console and Dougie plays non pedal as well, Donnie is a convert to lap steel due to health issues, but he is really a secret admirer of the art of string plucking without the gubbins below decks
A night of good humour and steel guitar playing awaits you if you can attend, look forward to meeting you
Regards
Robert
P.S. Wullie just beat me to it, that reminds me of the sign in the bookies " be Gamble aware!"

Welcome Ed,
Gartcosh Community Hall, Tuesday night, from 7pm, is where you want to be :guitar: And if that's too short notice there's always next month, same place.
Basically it's a room full of consenting adults, but in a steely inclined way :guitar: if you know what I mean.

Hi there
Thank you for the warm welcome.
That was good timing (something I don't always have musically!)
I'll be there Tuesday - really looking forward to it.
Regards
Ed
