Hi dear members

I have a question about steelbars for the pedalsteel
I have the normal rounded steelbar, but my indexfinger had some malfunction and can not hold it properly.
Is there a good alternative for me so that i can buy buy me another one with better grip on the steelbar??
Thanks for answers

Cheers Herman :)

Hello and welcome, Herman :D
What diameter is your bar? Perhaps moving down a size would help? I don't know where you're placed but it would be a good idea to get along to one of the meetings that occur fairly regularly throughout the land and you could get some hands on experience.
Another thought would be to try one of Basil Henriques' Ezee-Slide bars, they are a bit lighter than their steel equivalents and are very slick on the strings.
Mr. Bob Adams, who runs this forum along with Marc (Arcada), has milled out a groove in his bar that his finger sits in giving him great control.
So endeth the tuppence worth of a man who knows nowt
I hope your problem gets resolved.

Ah! I see Herman. Apologies, I should've read your first post.

Further to what I was saying, I'm not aware of any pedal steel players using any other types of bar, like those flat ones dobro players sometimes use, but then again I'm not that experienced.
