Having followed the posts on this forum for over a year, I have found so much useful information to help me with learning to play my lap steel. I have now decided to come out of the shadows and join in.
I went along to the North of England Steel Guitar festival, what a wonderful day I had. I was apprehensive turning up at the door unannounced. I need not have been, Tony and all the attendees were so welcoming, so generous of their time to explain and demonstrate the essential techniques of lap steel playing.
The talent in the room was outstanding, showing the full range of musical styles, hawaiian, swing, country and even show tunes. Wonderful.

Thank you to all the forum contributors whose posts have helped and inspired me learn how to play this 'plank thing'
