My wife got transferred to London and recently found this forum and pointed it out to me. Very nice resource! Glad to be here. Made a lot of new free improv friends in London with the Eddie Prevost crowd and so far I'm the only steel/slide player. Just switched to 8 string lap so figuring that out with various tunings and all. I also started a slide guitar podcast at my website blog. 3 episodes so far, Arlen Roth, Al Perkins and Lee Roy Parnell with many more to come (I'm writing a book on slide guitar so I have hours and hours of interviews on tape).

Played with Dennis Crouch of the Time Jumpers on many recordings and saw Dawn Sears many times at the Station Inn. Man, was she something.

Yes, I'm in London. Chiswick to be precise. I'm hopping back and forth to Norway working on a concerto (!) But hope to stay in London permanently.

Eddie, you couldn't find a better place to live in London, it's my birth place 74 years ago
Just logged onto your website, very interesting and particularly loved the track Harbour Road.
Have you recorded anything on steel?
I need to spend more time on your site as there is plenty of interest there.

Thanks Roy! Very kind of you to say. I wrote that tune with Freedy Johnston. I've recorded a lot of slide and lap steel with my free jazz and improv groups but not much on my singer-songwriter stuff because there was always someone better around! Heh. Especially in Nashville. Al Perkins played on a few of my records and Freddy Holm in Norway who's an incredible player. Very humbling!

Man, I would've loved to have caught Dawn Sears live. Sweet Memories, on the TimeJumpers live Dvd, is one of my favourite musical moments.

I must say Danny that the Time Jumpers of 15 years ago beats the current line up by a long shot and I mean that with great respect and as no slight. Hoot Hester, John Huey, Carolyn Martin,the original drummer who I forget off the top of my head....My mentor Bob Olhsson recorded their first two records and mastered them I think. Man,were they awesome. Mind blowing.

Just enjoyed a cursory gander. I doff my cap in your general direction Especially with regards to your song on Scene of the Crime. What a buzz it must be to hear Bettye LaVette wringing out the emotion from your creation. Great album and a great song. As for the co-writer you had foisted on you, hopefully she'll get her's when karma time rolls around!

I'm looking forward to listening to the podcasts, but once again, really interesting site.

Oh, and Harbour Road sounds to me like an ancient folk melody channelled through rootsy Americana, then tripped out somewhat Braw.
