Hi Guys,
I'm getting PSG withdrawal symptoms after about 35 years. Can't afford to buy one yet, but but i live in hope.
I wonder if any of the members remember the meetings of the Bristol Steelies at Pucklechurch. i used to attend them
now and again in the days when I had my PSG, an MSA Vintage XL in emerald green.
Perhaps the chap who bought it from me can remember it and is still about.
I'm also trying to remember the name of a really good lap steel player who used to attend those meetings.
I used to accompany him on my old Gretsch Chet Atkins guitar.
Anyway i hope to start playing some form of steel again soon whether it's a lap steel or a PSG.

Thank you all for the welcome. I happened across Ron Kew's website and realized
that the lap steel player I used to accompany on his visits to Bristol
was none other than the late Keith Worley. He was a great player.
I'm still the proud owner of a Gretsch guitar but am tempted to sell it
to get hold of a PSG again. It's probably the only way I will get one )
I also remember borrowing a Tokai Breezysound Telecaster to back
Rod King on a visit to Bristol steelies. Those were the days!!
The chap I borrowed the guitar from was called Alan but his
surname escapes me.
I guess nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Hi Andy - see if you can get to the North of England Steel Guitar Festival (search this forum or google it for details). It's in North Yorkshire (don't know where you're based) and Ron and Rod will both be here.
